Epic Romances- Everyone's guilty pleasure

Another Sunday , another genre. This time, let's talk romantic. Many may say they don't prefer romantic movies because they tend to get a bit mawkish and are generally unreal. But it is for sure a fact, that the major audience enjoys these romantics and there are some good realistic movies out there for all.

If we talk of Hollywood, it has given us some great romance dramas. So, with much difficulty I have come to conclusion to pick the following five as my favorite five movies of the genre

One of the most memorable scenes from Me Before You

1. The Notebook

This movie is going to put your emotional drive to the fourth gear with it's beautifully crafted story, adapted from the book of same name by the infamous author, Nicholas Sparks. The movie stars, Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams, who would definitely amaze you with their excellence in the craft of acting. There are several heartwarming scenes, and especially the ending, that may just make you finish the entire tissue box.

The Notebook is definitely the epitome of an epic romance, however unrealistic it may seem, the possibilities this world has to offer is often beyond our imagination.

2. The Before Trilogy

All three movies in this trilogy is worth the watch. When you begin with the first, you would be left wanting to know where the story continues to, about the two strangers Jesse, Ethan Hawke, an American man and Celine, Julie Delpy, a French woman, who met on a train in Europe, leads to.
These movies give you a surreal feeling of how just the one click between two compatible individuals forms a strong bond that lasts forever and it might just re-ignite your hope in love even in today's generation of fake love.

3. P. S. I Love you

This amazing movie starring Gerard Butler as Gerry and Hilary Swank as Holly, is about starting over. Holly recently lost Gerry to a medical condition and has lost all her hope, not just in love but in herself as well. Gerry, when alive, aware about his inevitable death plans an immaculate series of letters that Holly receives over time after he passes away and recovers from the loss while moving forward in life but also finding the purpose of life.
The movie is based on the 2004 novel by Cecelia Aherns of the same name. It beautifully depicts their love story which will have you awestruck and yet will teach you to get over an epic love after it's gone.
It also has a great cast of supporting actors, including; Academy Award winner Kathy Bates, Lisa Kudrow, Gina Gershon, Harry Connick Jr. and Jeffery Dean Morgan.
I personally have seen the movie at lease once every year since my first time because it's that beautiful. So, go ahead and give it a watch.

4. 500 Days of Summer

'
This movie is for the ones who want a realistic story. If you check out the trailer, the narrator declares; this is not a love story. Summer, played by the beautiful Zooey Deschanel and Tom, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, date for approximately one year and the Summer breaks off their relation, just like that for no valid reason. Tom then recalls his whole one year to understand where all went wrong, because for him she was the one. But Summer never believed in relationships and true love.
How he manages to understand the differences between the two and when he finally decides to never fall in love begins a new journey with another, there end the 500 days of summer and the movie is all about falling in and out of love.

5. Me Before You

Me Before You is based on the novel by the same title written by Jojo Moyes. It is a beautiful love story with its high points and low points balancing the complete story. The bond between Louisa Clark, Emilia Clarke and William Turner, Sam Claflin, will have you interestef throughout. Lou puts great effort into cheering up Will who has turned quadriplegic, loss of legs and very limited movement of the arms and the hand. Will had a wild way of living life prior to his accident and forth the accident has lost his will to live which is ironical to his name. The two fall in love, Will teaches Lou to live life to the fullest and Lou attempts to cheer Will to have faith in his.
The story ends on a beautiful note and is an iconic love story

Even though I couldn't mention all these because it was just top five, I'd like to further recommend these and movies like Water for Elephants and The Vowwhich  may not be as popular as others have great stories to recite and deserve at least one watch.

Let me know how you like these movies and do tell me your favorite movies in the comments !
